Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church
PASTOR'S MESSAGE
Dear Parishioner,
We are writing another chapter in the glorious history of our parish. God has been very good to us at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. As Bill Gavigan & I stated at all of the Masses last weekend, we have so much for which to be thankful. But we look back in thanksgiving and joy for what has been accomplished in our parish during the past 99 years, we must also look forward to not only preserving what has been done, but also to undertaking what is necessary to provide for the future.
I am so very grateful for all the dedicated parishioners who so willingly give of themselves for the benefit of our Parish Family. At this time, I extend my sincere gratitude to Bill Gavigan, the Chairman of the Communications Committee for our Capital Campaign, who spoke at all the Masses last weekend about our Parish Center project and his enthusiasm for it and his commitment to its success.
We are preparing to build our new Parish Center and Religious Education classrooms. But, we are building more than a building. Our main focus is on building our Community of Faith - the People of God that is Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. The new Parish Center will meet our goal of providing an appropriate place where all of us can gather together to celebrate the gift of each other. Our new classrooms will enable to teach the Good News of Jesus Christ in an appropriate learning environment.
As we share the excitement of a new building, we are also mindful of the many ministries and programs serving our parishioners that are helping us to build our Community of Faith. We do not want the cost of debt service to impact our ability to provide those ministries and programs. Therefore, we are seeking to raise $1 million in our Capital Campaign. We will need the financial support of all our parishioners if our special Campaign is to be successful. Let us achieve the goal together with love & sacrifice.
Thank you & God bless you all!
Father Paul
