YOUTH GROUP

ITALY TRIP
The Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Youth Group was founded in
1994 under the direction of Fr. Paul McDonnell. The first
meeting consisted of one member, and now, eleven years removed and many memories later,
the youth group has flourished as one of the most dedicated and respected groups in the
community. The youth group has reached out to gain new members from surrounding churches
and faiths.
Moderators A.J. Kuczenski, Joseph Struckus, Mike
Struckus, Fr. Johnson, and “Mr. Mt. Carmel” Jimmy
Ardoline, embrace many enthusiastic members, all of whom take the time and hard work to
display their faith in God, by not only lending a hand to their parish, but to their
community as well. The youth has lent out a
giving hand to local soup kitchens, meals on wheels and have organized clothing drives for
those in need. We also take part in activities and fund-raisers annually for Cancer
research and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. The
youth group is very involved within the church community by sponsoring events for the
children, supporting other church groups, and working at church festivals and bazaars. This year was the seventh year the youth have
produced their own version of “the passion of Christ.” This past year alone the youth group
graduated ten seniors who have left there mark and paved the way for the years to come.
This years featured events consists of attending the
“going deeper retreat in Philadelphia, aiding in preparing a new conformation class,
an autumn bon fire for local youth groups to rekindle and ignite their Christian faith, a
parish Masquerade ball, a thanksgiving dinner with the senior members of the parish,
attending the Pro-Life Rally in Washington DC and performing the passion just to name a
few.

to display their faith in God, by not only lending a hand to their parish, but to their
community as well. This year alone the youth group will graduate ten seniors who have left
there mark and paved the way for the years to come.
Meetings are held every week and discussions consist of various issues our youth face
today. This year the Youth Group shares in an experience by saying Thank You and God Bless
to one of the world's greatest leaders, Pope John Paul II, as well as embracing together a
new pope for the first time in Pope Benedict XVI.
New members are always welcomed to join, and we encourage any young man or woman
interested to contact one of the youth leaders.
